Cindy Schultz

Office Administrator

Cindy grew up in Roberts, WI and graduated from St. Croix Central. She previously worked for First Federal Savings Bank in Hudson before coming to work for the O’Connell Family in 1998!

While working at the bank, Cindy got to know Tom & Dan O’Connell by helping to open funeral trust accounts. One day, Tom called to ask if she would be interested in doing the bookkeeping for the funeral home. I believe she may have been the first person on the payroll that didn’t have the last name of O’Connell. Over the years, Cindy took on more hours and more responsibilities. Now her duties include scheduling, filing death certificates and permits, answering phones, processing insurance claims, maintaining human resource matters, and bookkeeping tasks. She has always enjoyed helping people so this job was a great fit. Says Cindy, “I am lucky to have a job where I look forward to going to work. This job is never boring. I am constantly learning new things and the staff at the funeral home are like my second family. I have met a lot of wonderful families while I have been here.”

In her spare time, Cindy volunteers as a 4-H leader, likes to travel, garden, bake, read, listen to music, and spend time with her family, friends and cats. Sometimes Cindy can be found at local parades playing the drums & cowbell with the SCC Community “Bifocal Band.” She loves fishing and spending time on the lake in the summer. She is a BIG fan of the Minnesota Vikings, and with her husband Joel being a Packer fan, the football season is always interesting and noisy in their house! Together they both enjoy cheering for St. Croix Central sports teams. Cindy & Joel are members of the Roberts Congregational United Church of Christ. Together they enjoy living on their rural Hammond dairy farm.
