Laine Halverson

Funeral Director

Laine D. Halverson is 5’3” and has cute dimples, as well as an incredibly colorful personality

Laine grew up in the small town of Utica, Minnesota with her parents and two older brothers. She became interested in funeral service at the young age of 13. Laine worked for Hoff Funeral Homes in southeast Minnesota during high school before attending Rochester Community and Technical College in Rochester, MN. After RCTC, she attended the University of Minnesota and obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree with a Major in Mortuary Science in 2017. While going to school in the Twin Cities, Laine worked as a night attendant for Mueller-Bies Funeral Home at their Roseville location. Not only did Laine achieve her degree at the U of M, but she also found the love of her life, Cole Skadsem.

After graduation, Laine and Cole were added to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home Team. Serving families in their darkest hour is something Laine finds very rewarding. When asked why she wanted to be a Funeral Director, her response was, “for the families”. Meeting and helping families is what Laine was called to do.

When Laine isn’t working, she is hiking in State Parks, giving herself a manicure, or watching “The Golden Girls”. She is also a loud and avid Minnesota Viking fan, wearing that purple pride on her sleeve. Laine thoroughly enjoys listening to Classic Rock ’n’ Roll bands such as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Steve Miller Band, and Led Zeppelin. Even though she is terrified of flying, she loves to travel and hopes to continue to see the world. Laine and Cole are members of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Woodville and reside in Hammond, WI.
