Bill Benedict

Funeral Director & Crematory Operator

Bill was born and raised in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He became interested in funeral service before attending college, and worked part-time for a funeral home in his hometown. Before entering the Program of Mortuary Science at the University of Minnesota, Bill was employed by The Northwestern Casket Company in Minneapolis as an office manager and casket sales director for over eleven years, serving funeral directors throughout the upper-Midwest. Bill graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in May of 2004. Bill is currently a licensed funeral director in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, and is a member of The American Society of Embalmers.

Bill began his career as a funeral director with the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in January of 2006. Bill and his wife, Lisa, relocated to Baldwin, Wisconsin in August of 2005 in search of the small town life to further raise their family. The two of them met while attending mortuary school and were married in September of 2001. Their marriage has been blessed with two sons, Marcus (2004) and Gavin (2009).

Bill currently serves as a board member with the Baldwin-Woodville Area Chamber of Commerce. When away from work, Bill enjoys spending time with family, activities with his sons, listening to many different kinds of music, working around the yard, taking road trips, taking in the fall colors, wild turkey hunting, and the Green Bay Packers.

Bill has also served as a firefighter in every community he has lived in since 1999. Continuing that tradition, Bill is proud to serve as a firefighter for the United Fire and Rescue District, responding out of the Baldwin Station. Bill is also a member of SPAAMFAA, the Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America, and one day hopes to own his own antique fire truck.
