Donna Mae Paulson, age 93, died peacefully on May 17, 2018 at Croixdale Assisted Living in Bayport, MN. She had been a resident of Croixdale Apartments from April 2013 until May 2016, when she moved to the Croixdale Memory Care Unit.
Donna was born on January 4, 1925 to Louis and Vernie Lieffring in St. Paul, MN. She attended elementary school in St. Paul and graduated from Marshall High School. On June 21, 1958, Donna was united in marriage to Donald Paulson and together they were blessed with two children, Doug and Debbie. Donna spent many years working part time as a secretary, but her main job in life was raising her two children.
Donna was a very active and social woman. She was involved in golf and bowling leagues for most of her life. She found great pleasure in any fun activity that involved socializing with her many close friends. Donna especially enjoyed playing cards. She was a kind, warm-hearted woman who treasured every moment life had to offer. Donna was the consummate wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend and will be dearly missed.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Debbie (John Taylor) Villafania; grandchildren, Nick, Bobby, and Morgan Villafania; brother, Charles (Bev) Lieffring; as well as other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; son, Doug; parents, Louie and Vernie; brother, Eldon; and son-in-law, David Villafania.
A Memorial Service for Donna will be held at 6:00 PM, with a visitation one hour prior to the service, on Wednesday, May 23 at Croixdale, 750 Hwy 95, Bayport, MN. Interment will be held at a later date in Union Cemetery. Services entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI.
