Diane Mulhollam age 62 of Roberts was rewarded for her earthly life Friday June 21st 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Diane was born on December 15, 1955 in Hudson Wisconsin; the daughter of Leon and Marilyn (Hawkins) Delander. She was raised in River Falls attending elementary school prior to graduating from the River Falls High School. On December 7, 1974 she would be united in marriage to her best friend Thomas Mulhollam at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls. This union would be further blessed with four children; Tami, Shelly, Chad, and Cory.  For 42 years, Diane worked in the insurance industry as an underwriter. She worked many years for Minnesota Life which would later become Securian in St Paul, MN. She served as an underwriter and most recently as an Underwriting Team Leader in a supervisory role prior to her early retirement due to health reasons.

For those that knew Diane they knew her greatest passion was her family. Nothing gave her greater happiness than a house full of kids, grandkids, siblings, and her nieces and nephews.  She thoroughly loved spending time on Big McKenzie Lake at the cabin in Spooner, WI. Pontoon rides, tubing, celebrating the holidays, and her well-known scavenger hunts made trips to the cabin most eventful. She always looked forward to Wednesdays as that was “Grandma Day” which usually meant going somewhere fun for the day and to eat. One of her more memorable trips was taking her entire family of 17 to Disney World. She relished time spent with friends shopping for clothes she couldn’t live without or décor she thought would be cute at home. Diane loved life. Her quest for others happiness and her own positivity will be forever missed. When she was diagnosed with cancer, she did not let that define her life. She said she would never have traded off the cancer as it gave her a better appreciation of her life, family, and friends. She lived by example.

Diane will forever live in the hearts of her husband Tom; children Tami (Jon) Longsdorf of River Falls, Shelly (Aaron) Clay of River Falls, Chad (Paula) Mulhollam of River Falls, Cory (Erin) Mulhollam of New Richmond; 8 grandchildren Miles, Madisyn, Gavin, Jonas, Clara, Harper, Declan, Mason; siblings Mike (Barb) Delander, Matt (Rebecca) Delander, Mark (Laurie) Delander, Pat (Debbie) Delander, Nancy (Russ) Schultz, Barbie (Jay) Newton; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Leon and Marilyn, and her brother Max.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11AM Tuesday, June 26th at St. Bridget's Catholic Church, 211 East Division Street in River Falls. Visitation will be on Monday, June 25th from 4pm to 8pm at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 So. 11th Street in Hudson. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the mass at church Tuesday morning. Burial will be 4:45pm Tuesday, June 26th at St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery. All are welcome. Memorials are preferred.  Funeral services entrusted to the O'Connell Family Funeral Homes and Countryside Crematory.

Diane Mulhollam's Tribute Wall

Tributes (4):

  1. Dear Mulhollam Family,

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of Diane. She was such a bright, beautiful, loving soul. I was lucky enough to get to know her as my aunt Anne sat right across from her office. Every time I came over to visit Anne I got to see and chat with Diane. Oh the stories and how we would laugh! I have great memories of her and will cherish them always.

    Sending prayers your way.

  2. Mulhollam family, so very sorry for your loss. A beautiful soul called home too soon. The only thing I can imagine is that God must have great plans for Diane in Heaven, and needed her there more. I can see her continuing her compassion and caregiving roles to those who need it in Heaven, especially the children. Loving, Mothering, Grandmothering, Mentoring, Befriending all those in need, like she did here with us. A great lady she was. My supervisor for years, but first and foremost, my friend. I will miss her dearly.
    Sincerely,
    Anne

  3. Dear Laurie and the Mulhollam Family
I am so very sorry to learn of the loss of Diane. I will always remember seeing her bright, smiling face in the halls of Securian for the majority of our careers here. It sounds like she leaves a wonderful legacy with your family. I hope all of your best memories bring you comfort today and in the days ahead
    Kirsten

  4. Mulhollam family, My deepest sympathy to you in the passing of Diane.
I worked in group claims/underwriting many years ago and Diane was always so kind to me. Especially when my mother passed away! I will never forget her caring heart! May you find comfort and peace in this difficult time!
