Sandra Ann Johnson, age 67 of Hudson, died Saturday July 28th 2018 at Our Lady Of Peace Hospice in St. Paul following a courageous battle with cancer.
Sandra was born May 29, 1951 in New Ulm, Minnesota; the daughter of Wallace and Clarie Mecklenburg. She graduated from Cathedral High School in New Ulm and then St. Cloud School of Nursing where she received her diploma as a registered nurse. She married David Johnson and children Sarah, Lora, and Adam were born. This union would later dissolve. For 24 years, she was employed as a certified occupational health nurse at 3M’s occupational medicine clinic. During that time, she managed the travel health program and assisted many 3M employees as they traveled internationally. She prided herself in being very professional while sharing her warmth and kindness with everyone she encountered.
The most important thing in Sandy’s life was always her family. She created a loving home for her children and grandson. She helped and supported them in any way she could. They brought her great joy and she was very proud of each of them. Because she was always a friend, she was blessed with many great friends in return. She treasured her friends and extended family and touched many with her love.
Sandra enjoyed golfing and traveling with friends and family. The holidays brought her much happiness. She was known to her friends and family as SandyClaus because of the many Christmas trees that she filled her home with. She enjoyed gardening and orchids as well as her cherished dogs Abbi and Tara.
Sandra believed in angels. She felt her life was graced by many people who were angels to her. Whether briefly or over a lifetime, those who brought her kindness and shared much joy and laughter with her were her angels. They lifted her up when she was weary and in need.
Sandra is survived by her children Sarah, Lora, Adam (Reka); grandson Andrew; siblings Paulette (Larry), Jim (Kim), Mary Ann (John), Carol, Ron, many nieces, nephews, friends, especially her sister-in-heart Diane (Layne). She is preceded in death by her parents.
