Robert C. White, age 86, of Hudson, formally of Maine City and Port Huron, MI, passed away on Nov. 9, 2018. He was born Dec. 10, 1931 in Portal, ND to parents James and Blanche White. The family moved to Marine City, MI where Bob attended Marine City High School. After graduation, he attended Western Michigan University where he received his teaching certificate. He went on to complete his Master of Education from Wayne State University. On May 28, 1976, Bob married the love of his life, Jane Budinger. He taught for 24 years before retiring from the Port Huron school district. Upon retirement, Bob enjoyed driving charter buses, traveling cross-country with various groups. He was a lifetime member of the Port Huron Hospital Auxiliary, and served on the board of the March of Dimes. After relocating to Hudson, WI to be close to family, Bob became a volunteer at the Hudson Hospital where he served for over 10 years. He was also a lifetime member of the Chapter 12 DAV of Port Huron, and the Chapter 2115 VFW. Bob also was a part of the VFW’s Honor Guard, and chairperson of the annual poppy sale.

Bob will remain in the hearts of his beloved wife of 42 years, Jane, his cherished children, Deborah (Truman) Kellie, Jeffery (Beth) White, Kenneth (Lyn) White, and Derek White; his grandchildren, Cameron White, Noah (Brittney) Barton, Rayah Barton, TJ Kellie, Kalin (Tom) Seaton, and Phil Kellie; and his special great-granddaughter Addison Ludwig. Preceded in death by parents, James and Blanche; and brothers, Donald, William, and James Jr. White. Memorial Service for Bob will be held at 11AM on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at United Methodist Church, 1401 Laurel Ave, Hudson, WI. Gathering of family and friends will take place one hour prior to the service at church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Church of Hudson.

  2. I remember with fondness, and dearly loved, his cocky and fun attitude whenever he volunteered at Hudson Hospital. It was always an adventure with him there, and he will be missed by many of us here at HH, even though it’s been a while since we’ve seen him. Wishing you fond memories.
