Phillip Lee Doornink, beloved husband to Joan and cherished dad to Will and Laura died Saturday November 24th 2018 of an apparent heart attack while at work in the Twin Cities. Phil was born on August 30, 1956 in Baldwin, the son of Reuben and Dorothy (Bol) Doornink. He attended Baldwin Christian School prior to graduating from Baldwin-Woodville High School in 1975. He would further his education at Chippewa Valley Technical College where he learned the trade of auto technician. Phil thoroughly enjoyed his time as owner and operator of Hillcrest Motors for over thirty years! On May 6, 1978, he was united in marriage to Joan Rademaker at First Reformed Church in Baldwin. This union would be blessed with two children; William and Laura.  Phil was an outdoorsman who appreciated God’s beauty. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family snowmobiling, fishing, working on vehicles, bear hunting, and watching motorsports. He took great pride in his family and adored his grandchildren. Having them over and grilling a feast put the biggest smile on his face. He loved working on his tree farm and tinkering in his shop woodworking. Most recently, he enjoyed his time serving as a Matco Tools distributor.

Phil will live on in the hearts of his wife of 40 years and best friend Joan; children William (Sara), Laura (Glenn) Dodge; grandchildren Adeline, Finn Doornink, Aubree, Connor Dodge; parents Reuben and Dorothy Doornink; siblings Dan (Sally), Doug, Gary (Bev), Cindy; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Evelyn Rademaker; bothers/sisters-in-law Mari (Dennis) Omann, Richard (LeAnn) Rademaker, Carolyn (Todd) Iverson, and Roundy (Roxi) Rademaker. Those who were waiting for him in heaven are his grandparents; sister-in-law Kelly Doornink, great niece Alexis Albrightson; father-in-law Leon Rademaker; great niece Amy Rademaker, great nephews Brian Omann and Trevor Doornink.
