Wisconsin Funeral Trust
The Wisconsin Funeral Trust was established in May 1999 to provide funeral directors and the families they serve with an option for their preneed funds. Owned and operated by the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association, the trust is committed to excellence by providing unsurpassed customer service with high, safe, secure rates of return. WFDA is one of the 34 state funeral directors associations offering a trust program to its members. The Master Trust provides a higher rate of return by pooling funds for investment purposes. Interest is compounded daily on every account.
Regulatory Compliance
The Wisconsin Funeral trust meets all state and federal laws. The trust has been approved by the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions, the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services and the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing. Funds are deposited and held at the Stephenson National Bank in Neenah, Wisconsin.
Excellent Returns
The Wisconsin Funeral Trust guarantees a return of 1% more than the state average three-year CD rate. The rate is adjusted every six months to be sure that it remains competitive. To comply with state laws, the trust investment portfolio consists of only the most secure, low risk vehicles including: CD’s, Money Markets, Investment Grade Corporate Bonds & Government Bonds. The trust is managed by the investment firm of Smith Barney. Investment performance is closely monitored to insure a high, safe rate of return.
In comparison to traditional bank CDs and pre-need insurance, the Wisconsin Funeral Trust has consistently delivered superior returns. Over 7 years (the average life of a pre-need trust) the difference between the value of the Wisconsin Funeral Trust vs. Insurance or CDs can be staggering.
Wisconsin Funeral Trust vs Insurance = $1,118 more dollars in the Wisconsin Funeral Trust
Wisconsin Funeral Trust vs CDs = $586 more dollars in the Wisconsin Funeral Trust
These figures are based on a $6,000 deposit. They are also based on what we (the Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association) consider to be an average rate of return for the following investments: 3.50% for Insurance, 4.5% for Bank CDs and 5.54% for the Wisconsin Funeral Trust.
