Allen Brakke

Allen William Brakke, age 90, passed away suddenly Thursday, November 3, 2011 at his home in Somerset, WI.

He was born in Milroy, MN. He was a farmer and writer at heart. He loved books, reading, walking outdoors, gardening, watching football, and spending time with his family.  He clung to life through an extended illness.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Patricia, of 60 years, sons Jeff, Michael, Greg (Kathy), Mark, daughters Mary (Leo Carton), Patrice Foster (Ron), sister, Lucille Raveling, nephew John Brakke (Julie), nieces Kathy Norcutt (Rich), and Janice Peters (Dick), grandchildren Jeremy (Teal) Foster, Beth (Jon) Hamer, John and Tony Kablan, and great-grandchildren Leah, Natalie and Jack Foster, and Owen Hamer.

We are grateful to all of his friends and caregivers at Davita Dialysis, Stillwater, MN.

A Funeral Celebration of Allen’s life will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11am at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI.  Burial will follow at the Houlton Cemetery.  Celebrant Kathleen Helgeson will be officiating.  Visitation will be held for 1 hour prior to services.  Services are in the care of the O’Connell Family Funeral Home – Hudson Chapel.  715.386.3725.
