Anna Patricia Caponi, age 45 of Glenwood City, Wisconsin, died unexpectedly on March 21, 2017 of an acute illness at her residence.  Anna was born on January 10, 1972 in Des Moines, Iowa; the daughter of Damiano and Patricia (Parlin) Caponi. She was raised in Des Moines, attending Clive and St. Theresa Elementary Schools and Dowling High School. After graduating from Roosevelt High School, she studied at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Anna was a caring mom who was so proud of her three children.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and being a mom brought her great joy.  Anna cared about the world.  She had a deep connection with nature. She shared this love with her children and helped them to see beauty all around them.  The moon, sun, stars, wind, and trees were Anna’s sanctuary.  She loved animals and would do anything for an animal in need.  Her pets were part of her family and she cared for many over the years including current pets, Zach, Mr. Wiggles & Kitten Pie.  Anna was a talented and creative artist who made paintings and collage.  Everything was art to her, and her creativity showed throughout her life.   She loved music, dance parties and concerts.

She will be mourned by her children; Sebastian Lake Oeltjen, Collin Lucas Oeltjen, Liliana Patricia Carey; parents Damiano and Patricia Caponi; siblings Nancy (Robert Adams) Caponi of Santa Barbara, John Caponi of Des Moines, Mary Caponi of Des Moines, Robert Caponi of Palmer Lake, Colorado, Susan (David) Arvidson of West St. Paul; nieces and nephews John (Sarah) Bonsall, Amber (Chris) Nigon, Clayton & Patrick Hamilton, Clare, Catherine & Mary Cecilia Arvidson, and Crystal & Ruby Caponi; great nieces and nephew, Georgia, Carina & Johnny Bonsall and Audrey & Chloe Nigon, and aunts Nancy Parlin and Cheryl Caponi. Anna is preceded in death by her grandparents, and uncles Anthony Caponi and Claudio Caponi.

A service of reflection will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, March 28th at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home; 520 So. 11th Street, Hudson, WI. Family and friends are also invited to a visitation on Monday from 5 to 7 pm at O’Connell Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Blue Earth, Minnesota. Memorial donations may be made to assist with her children’s education in care of the Westconsin Credit Union.
