Audrey Alvera (Larson) Goossens age 90, of Baldwin, Wisconsin, died on August 18th, 2026. She was born in Baldwin, Wisconsin on September 10, 1935, the daughter of Clarence and Alvera (Hanson) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Woodside Lutheran Church and was presently a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Audrey attended grade school at Tydalen rural in Baldwin and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1954.
She married the love of her life, Jerome "Jerry" Goossens, on August 25, 1956, at the Woodside Lutheran Church. Audrey's greatest joy was her family and hosting family gatherings, where her culinary skills shone brightly. Whether cooking hearty meals or baking delicious treats, she infused every dish with love. After mealtime, she delighted in playing card games, cherishing the laughter and connection that these moments brought. Audrey was not only a devoted wife and mother but also a caring grandmother who created memorable quilts for her family and contributed to her community by sewing for the auxiliary.
Throughout her varied career, Audrey exemplified her dedication to helping others. She held numerous positions, including roles as a waitress at Fred Minks Café, factory work at Son's and Tools, a press machinery operator in Woodville, and contributed to building snow blowers at the Toro factory in Hudson. For over 25 years, she touched the lives of many as an activity aide at Baldwin Care Center, where both residents and staff cherished her warm presence. Even as she transitioned to the nursing home at Park View in Woodville, Audrey's spirit of caregiving remained strong, and she found it challenging to step away from her role at the care center. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
She will remain in the hearts of her children Doug (Abbie) Goossen, Randy (Kathy) Goossen, and Bruce (Christine) Goossen; grandchildren Jonathan (Danielle) Goossen, Amber (Steve) Klein, Lauren (Clay) Curry, and Michelle McIntyre; great-grandchildren Jaxon and Lincoln Klein, Riley Goossen, Etorie (Austin) Curry-ChalFant, Lance Kidd, and Addison Curry. She is further survived by her sisters Evelyn Fordahl and Janet (Kevin) Johnson; sisters-in-law Myrna Larson and Marlene Goossens and brother-in-law Terry Goossens.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry Goossens; infant son; parents Clarence and Alvera Larson; in-laws John and Erna Goossens; siblings Robert (Dorothy) Larson, Marion (Floyd) Peterson, George (Mardell) Larson, twin brother Audley Larson, and Donald Larson. siblings-in-law Lawrence (Eleanor) Goossens, Clarence Goossens, John Goossens, Ronald (Shirley) Goossens, Delmar Goossens, Doris (Marvin) Teigen, and Phillip Fordahl.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Wisconsin, on what would have been her and Jerry's 70th anniversary. Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 pm with a service starting at 3:00 pm. burial at Baldwin Cemetery will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Park View nursing home in Audrey's memory, honoring her lifelong dedication to caregiving.
