Born in St. Paul, MN on October 6, 1931 to John and Helen Husnik, Barbara Elaine Kopp died peacefully on May 4, 2026 in New Richmond, WI.
She led a long and interesting life! Besides being a supportive wife and loving mother of six children, Barb loved to travel, take classes to learn new skills, garden, sew, cook and bake. She was the secretary and bookkeeper for the family business, and she had her own house cleaning business for almost 40 years. Barb was renowned for her delicious spaghetti, cakes and homemade bread. She was also very active on the civic scene with a decades-long membership in VFW Auxiliary; in the city of Lake St. Croix Beach she was an election judge, spent decades on the City Council and proudly served as mayor for two years.
Barb married Lyman G. Kopp on May 24, 1952 and they built a strong and loving partnership together for 63 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings, her husband Lyman, and two daughters, Patty and Mary. Barbara is survived by children Sue, Cheryl, Laura and Lyman; four grandchildren-Laura, Ana, Emily and Austin; and special friend Ginny.
A memorial service will be held later in the year. Memorial gifts can be made in Barb’s name to the National Parks Conservation Association, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in St. Croix Beach or charity of your choice.
