Billy D. Anderson, aka “Bill,” age 74 of Hudson, bravely fought his last Vietnam battle, from Agent Orange borne illnesses: Lung Cancer, CHF and PTSD on December 8, 2017 at his home. Bill proudly served in the United States Army. 25 Division 1St Battalion. Wolfhounds/Tropic Lightning. Vietnam 1966. Bill worked for Tower Asphalt for 32 years as their main paver operator until his retirement. He never missed a days work in the 32 years, no matter how HOT or inclement the weather! He belonged to the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 49 IUOE.
Bill is survived by his wife, friend and caregiver Juliet; Daughter, Angela Boe; son, Robert Boe; four grandchildren: Cheyanne Stone, Tristan (Kate) Stone, Ross (Ashley) Stone, and Brent Carter; six great-grandchildren: Charles Stone-Hill. Taylor, Lucas and Sophia, Kamaria and Mackson; brothers: Terry (Shirley) Anderson, and Randy (Bonnie) Anderson; niece, Nicole (Brad) Ertel; nephews, Matt (Michelle) Anderson, Troy (Pam) Anderson; also all their children; and many friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Marvin “Bill” Anderson and Hazel (Ahrens) Anderson.
He wished to thank the many doctors and nurses and all staff of the VA Hospital, Mpls, MN for their expert care and caring. “Thank you all.”
Funeral services will be held at O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S 11th , St, Hudson WI, Visitation from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, Funeral service at 3:00 PM. Reception to follow the service.
Interment with full military honors Monday, December 18, 2017 11:30 am. Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S, Mpls, MN.
