Bonnie Olson (nee Booth), age 82, of Baldwin, WI formerly of Eau Claire, WI passed away on Aug. 9th. Bonnie was born in Amery, Wisconsin. Bonnie was the beloved daughter of Doug and Lorraine Booth. Her life was a tapestry of warmth, kindness, and creativity woven through her many roles as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.
Bonnie’s journey was marked by her enduring love for her family and her remarkable talents. She married the love of her life, Denny Olson, on September 22, 1990. Together, they shared years of happiness and cherished memories until Denny’s passing. Their love story was an inspiration to all who knew them.
Bonnie was a dedicated and hard-working woman. Her career at Northwest Fabrics in Eau Claire was just the beginning of her professional journey. When the store closed, she seamlessly transitioned to managing Mill End Textiles, where her leadership and passion for textiles shone brightly. Beyond her career, Bonnie was an avid seamstress and quilt maker, whose hands crafted beautiful creations that will be treasured for generations. Her love for crafts knew no bounds—there was never a project too big or too small for her talented touch.
Outside of her creative endeavors, Bonnie found joy and camaraderie in her bowling league and card clubs. She was known for her generosity and willingness to help anyone in need, whether it was organizing, painting, or decorating. Her spirit of giving and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Bonnie’s legacy lives on through her loving family, who were her pride and joy. She is survived by her children: Todd (Lynn) Fox, Rick Fox, Robyn (Jeff) Hielkema, Rich Olson, Penny (James) Parks, Tina (Todd) Bursaw, and Dan (Tracy) Olson. Her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and countless friends will forever hold her in their hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Doug and Lorraine Booth; her brother, Dick Booth; husband, Denny Olson; and her great-grandchild, Kassidy Crandall. While the loss of these loved ones weighed heavily on her heart, Bonnie’s spirit remained resilient and full of grace.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Baldwin Care Center and St. Croix Hospice for the compassionate care they provided Bonnie in her final days. Lastly, a whole-hearted thank you to Bonnie’s special friends and caregiver Becky Morrissey, you will always be in her heart.
