Bruce Michael Weiss

Bruce Michael Weiss “Savvy”, age 61, of Ellsworth, WI passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 surrounded by family, at Kinnic Health & Rehab in River Falls, WI. Bruce was born on December 10, 1955 in Durand, WI to W. Eugene “Gene” and Evelyn (Radle) Weiss. He was a graduate of Plum City High School where he was very athletic, playing football, basketball, etc. On July 30, 1988 he was united in marriage to Jean Marie Hines in Spring Valley, WI.

He worked for Weiser Concrete as a truck driver before going to work for 3M in Cottage Grove as a process operator. It didn’t matter where Bruce was working he was a hard, dedicated worker.

Bruce loved the outdoors such as deer hunting, turkey hunting, gathering maple syrup, or just walking in the woods. He also loved doing yard work and gardening.

Being a huge Wisconsin sports fan, you could always find him cheering on his favorite team be it the Packers, Badgers, etc. He had a heart of gold putting everyone before himself and would do anything he could to help someone out. One example of this is that he was a dedicated blood donor.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Weiss and his mother-in-law, Mary Olive Hines.

Bruce was a very loving husband, father and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Jean; children, Chelsey, Tiffany, Tyler; his father, W. Eugene “Gene” Weiss; siblings, James (Verna), Douglas (Nancy), David (Leigh), Nancy (Greg) Saueressig, Michelle Weiss, Kevin (Kari), Brent (Heather); father-in-law, Eldon Hines; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:30am on Friday, January 27th at St. Francis Catholic Church, Ellsworth, WI. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00pm Thursday, January 26th at the church and 1 hour prior to Mass on Friday. Interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Ellsworth, WI.
