Carol Ann Wald

Carol Ann Wald (Hazzard) age 83, of Lake St. Croix Beach, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 14th 2026, with her loving husband, David A Wald by her side. She was born on September 18th, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota; the daughter of Archie White & Doris Edith Hazzard (Hazel).

After graduating High School from St. Paul Johnson, she pursued a career in cosmetology. In 1965, she married David A. Wald and went on to raise her two children; Kristine M Herzog (Wald) and David F. Wald. In 1989 they moved to the St. Croix River, in Lake St. Croix Beach, Minnesota. She loved having parties on the beach.

Carol was a wonderful cook and baker and she loved to entertain. She enjoyed softball, sailing, camping and playing cards. Carol truly embraced being a grandmother and great-grandmother, she was involved in their many activities. Carol and David were dog lovers, always having a furry friend. Later in retirement they traveled in an RV to the four corners of the United States. Eventually, they became "Snow Birds" in Mission, Texas.

Carol is survived by her husband, David A Wald; aunt, Mary Hazzard; daughter, Kristine M Herzog (Wald); son, David F. Wald; several brothers and sisters-in-laws; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Annie; plus, many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Archie White & Doris Edith Hazzard (Hazel); her four brothers, Archie, Dennis, James, and Donald Hazzard; three sister-in-laws, Jacquelyn, Judith, and Margaret Hazzard.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 12:00pm, at O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, 520 s. 11th st. Visitation will be held two hours prior, 10:00am - 12:00pm. The family invites you to stay after the service for a luncheon.
