Carol Jewett Zachary, age 72, of Hudson, WI, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Christian Community Homes. Carol was born in St. Paul on February 19, 1947 to Roger and Marjorie (Ruesink) Jewett. She graduated from Hopkins High School. She worked as the Coordinator of Volunteer Services at Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie, IL for most of her career. Carol married Grant Zachary on November 14, 1987 in Minneapolis and welcomed his seven children into her life. She loved being on the water and boating on both Lake Minnetonka and the St. Croix River with her family and friends. She also enjoyed her her parents hobby farm, interior decorating, antiquing and was a member of P.EO. When she wasn’t spending time with her family she would be with her special friends Sharon Tepper, Tom and Sue Aitchison and Garth Vander Vorst. Carol had a strong faith and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson.

She will remain in the hearts of her step-children Therese (Dave) Albrecht, Edward Zachary, Katherine (Tim) Rausch;step-daughter-in-law Marianne Watson; step-grandchildren Ryan (Chelsea) and Nick Albrecht; step-great grandchildren Ella, Grant, Zachary Albrecht and many other step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; as well as special cousin David Ruesink and his daughter Kathleen Ruesink. She is preceded in death by her husband Grant, step-children Christine (Gerald) Kamrowski, Bruce, Mark, and Grant Zachary, Jr.

A Memorial Service for Carol will be on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 2pm at First Presbyterian Church in Hudson with Rev. Dr. Kendra Grams officiating. Interment will be at a future date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winona, MN. Memorials are preferred to the First Presbyterian Church in Hudson for the Youth Resource Committee. The family would like to thank CCH and Allina Hospice staff for their care and compassion. The O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting the family with arrangements.
