CarolAnn Mary Schlussler was born on December 23, 1941, in St. Paul, Minnesota; the daughter of Clarence and Shirley (Garvey) Pawlenty. She was raised in St. Paul, where she attended St. Paul High School. She was united in marriage to Robert O. Schlussler at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in SSP on Friday, August 2nd,1958. This union brought five children: Christine, Shirley, Sandra, Roberta, and Gerald into this world.
If you knew CarolAnn, you knew of her love for over-the-road trucking. She drove for most of her adult life, traveling across the United States and reaching every continental state. As the Truckload Carriers Association's 2002 Independent Contractor of the year, CarolAnn recieved a 2003 International 9900ix semi-truck This truck was her pride and joy and well deserved. On many of those trips, she had one of her furry companions riding along beside her. Along the way, she also enjoyed stopping at casinos to try her hand at the slots-though just as much for the buffet. She held fond memories of traveling with her sister Pat, especially on the several cruises they shared together. As a young woman, she also loved horseback riding, spending time out on the trails.She is survived by her children Christine (Qui Le) McGee of Hammond, Shirley Bartos of Turtle Lake, Sandra (Shawn) Gartmann of Woodville, Roberta Schlussler of Clear Lake, Gerald (Lisa) Schlussler of Deer Park; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; siblings Patricia Rauschnot of Amery, James Pawlenty of Texas, Maryann Goetsch of Chetek and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert; grandchildren Carolann, Timothy, great grandson Robert; brothers/sisters-in-law Chuck Rauschnot, Debra Bond Pawlenty, and Merlin Howlett.
She passed peacefully in her sleep on May 30,2026 at the Hammond Health Services in Hammond Wisconsin. She will be greatly missed.Because of all of the people CarolAnn met in her life it would be very difficult to let all of them know that she passed and where a Celebration of life would be held. It has been decided that her family will celebrate her life as individuals. Please know that we appreciate all your prayers in this time of sadness. Celebrate CarolAnn's life in a way you, your friends and family remember her.
