Carole Pratt

Carole Anne Pratt, age 80, of Hudson Wisconsin, formerly of St. Paul, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by family. Carole was born on June 24, 1938 in St. Paul, MN to Edward and Evelyn (Gunsell) Corcoran. She grew up in St. Paul, and graduated from St. Josephs Academy in 1956. Three years later she married the love of her life James “Jim” Pratt, and together they had eight children.

Carole and Jim began their life together in Minnesota, and also spent several years in Washington and Kansas before returning to Minnesota. They eventually landed in Wisconsin. Carole loved to travel which took them to places like Florida, Arizona, Hawaii, California and many other locations throughout the US. She could usually be found reading, doing puzzles and listening to music, which could range from classical to country, to jazz. Carole was a skilled musician herself, and loved to play the piano. She passed down her love of music to many of her grandchildren who became talented musicians and singers. Carole had a strong faith, was an active member in the Catholic Church and regularly participated in bible studies. Carole’s greatest accomplishments were being a proud wife, mom, grandma and great grandmother. She loved caring and spending time with all of them as much as she could.

Carole will remain in the hearts of her husband Jim; children Greg (Ronan), Lynn (Doug) Verley, Mike (Mindy), Julie (Marshall) Asta, Shari (Rodney) Lading, Jill (Steve) Parker, Brian (Jessica) and Jim Jr. (Alicia); grandchildren Mathew (Lindsey), Clinton (Megan), Jacquelyn, Kathryn, Amanda (Ethan), Larissa, Phillip, Michael, Tyler, Lauren, Andrea, Angela, Natalie, Aaron, Cameron, Nick, Olivia, Tony, Taylor, Anna, Zachary, Alison, Elise, Sara, Steven, Emily, Ben and Sophia; great grandchildren Kara, Noah, Eli, Joey, and Chip; siblings Sharon (Jim) Smith, Renee Miller, Debbie (Steve) Noack and Greg (Colleen) Corcoran. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Dave Corcoran.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Carole will be held on Thursday April 4, 2019 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hudson, Wisconsin at 11am. A visitation will be the night prior on Wednesday April 3, 2019 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Hudson from 5pm-7pm as well as one hour prior to Mass on Thursday.
