Our loss is Heaven’s gain when on April 30, 2015 Carolyn R. Olson (Foster) went dancing and singing in through the pearly gates. She is reunited with her mom and dad Charles S. Foster and Renee (Cyr) Foster. Born February 11, 1949 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Carolyn moved to River Falls with her family before she started school and lived in the area her whole life. Her nickname in high school was ‘mouse’ from her small stature and and even smaller voice, except when she would sing. She graduated from River Falls High School in 1967. Carolyn was united in marriage to James Olson on February 12, 1971 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church in River Falls. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Brad, Jenna and Keira.
From the time she was a little girl, her infectious laughter and sunny disposition entertained us all. From putting on plays in the backyard, to telling great stories she was one-of-a-kind, creative and caring and loving and will be missed. Her strong faith pulled her through life.
Survived by her husband, James; children, Brad (Jessie) Olson, Jenna Olson, and Keira Olson; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Linda Foster, Donna Lucas, and Marianne (Scott) Shira; sister-in-law, Lynn (Mike) Simon; and many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m., with prayers at 7:30pm, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, WI. A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will also take place from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the River Falls Assembly of God Church, 605 Valley View Dr., River Falls, WI.
For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
She is dancing.
