Catherine Mclean

Catherine McLean, age 89 of Hudson, WI, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at Comforts of Home in Hudson.

Catherine was born on April 5th, 1929, in Falkirk, Scotland to Archibald and Mary Elizabeth (Kettles) McLean. She grew up in Scotland with her 8 siblings, Mary, Margaret, Jessie, Jean, Robert, Peter, Duncan and Walter. There she attended Carron Grade School, and graduated from Larbert Central High School. Upon her move to the Hudson area, she married George Reed on March 7, 1953, a union that would be blessed with three children: George, Roxanne, and Mary. The marriage would later be dissolved.

While in Hudson, Catherine worked as a waitress at the Hudson House, a bookkeeper at West Publishing, a clerk at Pillar-to-Post Giftshop, and lastly andmost recently, as a clerk at Mickelsen’s Pharmacy.

Catherine was extremely proud of her Scottish heritage, and participated in many events and organizations that paid homage to it. She was a member of Twin City Scottish Club and a former member of the Willow River Car Club. She also enjoyed vacationing with her family.

She is survived by her children: George (Donna) Reed III, Roxanne (Al) Glover of Eagan, MN, and Mary Reed of Apple Valley, MN; 6 grandchildren, Christine, Steven, Kevin, Jodell, Elizabeth, and Michael; great-grandchildren, Matt, Katie, Brandon, Kelsey, Andrew, Kallie, Carson, Zach, Ethan, Gabrielle, Ella and Julia.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Margaret Sims, Jessie Wilson, Jean Dick, Robert McLean, Peter McLean, Duncan McLean, Walter McLean, and Mary Evans.

Private family services will be held at Catherine’s request.

Services have been entrusted to the O’Connell Family Funeral Home of Hudson, WI.
