Christine Mary Hillstead

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christine Mary Hillstead, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world suddenly on February 22, 2025, at the age of 60. Christine was born on August 11, 1964, in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She spent her formative years in the warmth of family and community, eventually settling in Glenwood City, Wisconsin, where she created a loving home for her family.

Christine was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), working tirelessly in the health industry, where she touched the lives of many through her compassion and care. Those who had the privilege of knowing her remember her not only for her commitment to her profession but also for her unwavering support of her family, particularly her sons, Jeremiah and Daniel Hillstead.

A cherished grandmother, Christine took great joy in attending every activity of her grandkids, always the proud supporter cheering them on. Her love extended to her hobbies as well; she found joy in crocheting, baking, and especially collecting cookbooks, often creating her own. Every day, she cherished breakfast at Denny’s, a simple yet meaningful ritual that highlighted her deep family ties.

Christine is survived by her loving sons Jeremiah (Amanda) Hillstead and Daniel Hillstead; cherished grandchildren James, Aubrie, Lexi, Jace, and Rylee who will carry her memory forward in their hearts; siblings William (Jodi) Jacobson, David (Nancy) Jacobson, Nancy (Todd) Berg, Michelle Englain; nephews Micheal & Mark, Kyle & Korey; plus many extended relatives and friends.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents Harold & Mary Jacobson

A memorial service to celebrate Christine’s life and legacy is scheduled for 6:00 pm on Friday, March 7th, 2025 at O’Connell Funeral Home 1010 Newton St, Baldwin, Wisconsin. Visitation will take place before the service, 4:00-6:00 pm, all who knew and loved Christine are welcome to join in remembering her warmth and kindness.
