Chuck Fehr

d. December 15, 2015

Charles “Chuck” Strand Fehr, age 85, passed away at his Hudson home, on December 15, 2015. Born the son of James and Stella (Strand) Fehr, on July 26, 1930 in Minneapolis, MN. He attended school in Minneapolis, graduating from Southwest High School and later achieving his Bachelor of Science degree, from the University of Minnesota. Chuck’s career began as an officer in the United States Navy, where he proudly served during the Korean War. His Naval career, as a Ship Captain, took him to the Caribbean and South American regions, where he developed a love of boating and being on the water.

Chuck met and married the love of his life, Mona Gay Risty, in Minneapolis, on June 15, 1963. Together they raised three children: Brett, Trina, and Eric. Chuck enjoyed a career in industrial sales while raising his children in Hudson. He cherished time with his family, most of all, and took trips to the Boundary Waters, spent time on the St. Croix River, and enjoyed all things outdoors, affording his children lifetime memories. He was an exceptional father and husband, always putting his family first. Most recently, Chuck enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working outdoors, and riding his John Deere tractor. He passed on his love for automobiles to his grandson, Charlie, who could frequently be found in the garage with him, working on a car. In addition to his love for his family, Chuck was a dedicated member of Bethel Lutheran, where he served as a past congregation President. He will forever be loved and remembered for his humor, his quick wit, and extraordinary dedication to his family.

Chuck is survived by his children: Brett Fehr of Minneapolis, Trina Kennedy, of Hudson, and Eric (Stephanie) of Sacramento, CA; five grandchildren: Charlie and Sam Kennedy, and Matthew, Ashley, and Erika Fehr; and sister, Jeri Rothnem. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mona Gay; and brother, James Fehr.
