Clyde Eldon Christensen, age 85 of Hudson died peacefully Tuesday January 17th, 2017 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. Clyde was born on May 9, 1931 in Hudson; the son of Clarence and Mary (Dahl) Christensen. He was raised in Hudson where he attended school graduating from Hudson High School in 1949. On April 11, 1953, he was united in marriage to Donna Brown at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson. To this union, children Kevin, Kent, and Keri were born. For thirty-one years, Clyde worked for Andersen Windows. He was a proud member of their prestigious Quarter Century Club.

Clyde enjoyed sports, often happily recalling when he and his brother Vernon played on the Raiders football team winning the Middle Borders Conference Championship. He loved golfing and, earlier in life, was an active member of the Hudson Golf Course. He loved watching sports on tv and was always ready to cheer on his beloved Green Bay Packers or Wisconsin Badgers. Clyde was also a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge and a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson. He loved to sing and took great pleasure in serving on St. Pat’s choir as he loved to sing the old hymns. On a quiet day, he also took time to read a good book. He had a calm and peaceful presence and a wonderful sense of humor which he maintained to the end. His family was his greatest joy.

Clyde will be fondly remembered by his best friend and wife Donna; children Kevin (Diane) Christensen of North Hudson, Kent (Bonnie) Christensen of River Falls, Keri (Keith) Kennedy of Hudson; grandchildren Erin, Ben, Cory, Jena, Caitlin, David Bowen, and Keli Kennedy; great-grandchildren Payton, Jayden, Braelynn, Trey, David Jr., and Koyote Eldon; siblings Vernon (Linda) Christensen of Washington, Charles (Helen) Christensen of California, Marth (Rozz) Christensen of Washington, and Alta Mae Colbeth of Michigan, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Clarice Bylander, Kenneth Christensen, and brothers-in-law LeRoy Colbeth and Juvene Bylander.

Mass of Christian Burial for Clyde Christensen will be 11AM Tuesday, January 24th at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, January 23rd from 4 to 6pm at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson as well as one hour prior to the service at church Tuesday morning.
