Constance “Connie” Mary Chambers Gerke

Constance “Connie” Mary (Chambers) Gerke, age 84, of Prescott, WI died Feb. 19, 2016 at Prescott Nursing & Rehab Community in Prescott, WI.

She was born on Feb. 28, 1931 in Lackawanna, NY to K. Nathan and M. Lucille Jelmberg. She worked several years as a nurse’s aide and later in life worked at Kmart . In 1952 she was united in marriage to John Richard Chambers, Sr. He died in 2002; in 2008 she was united in marriage to Herbert Gerke.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, John Chambers, Sr. and Herbert Gerke; two sons, Thomas and Mike Chambers.

Connie is survived by her children, Lucille Chambers, John (Judy) Chambers, Jr., Gerry Chambers, Patty Caster, Teresa Chambers; daughter-in-law, Martha Chambers; 20 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at The Catholic Church of St. Rita, 8694 80th St. South, Cottage Grove, MN, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Private interment will be in Cottage Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Susan G Komen Foundation is requested by the family.
