Dan Kay Obit

Dan Eugene Kay, age 75, entered into eternal rest on October 31, 2019 at home in Wisconsin. Dan was born on March 24th, 1944 in River Falls, to Eugene and Kathryn Kay. He attended St. Bridget Catholic School and graduated with the class of 1962 from River Falls High School. Dan was a “main stay” in the River Falls high school football and basketball teams.

Dan spent time working at Amour Meat Packaging in South St. Paul. He then attended Vocational school for HVAC. After completing his training, he went to work for Major Appliance doing small appliance repairs. In 1980 he started his own business: 4 Seasons Heating & Air Conditioning. Dan then went to Sears as a Service Technician and retired in 2003.

Aside from working, he enjoyed spending time with his wife at their cabin in Northern WI, where they enjoyed fishing, golfing, and boating. Dan was a devoted Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan. Overall, he was an avid sports nut!

In 2004, Dan and his wife moved south to Weslaco, TX where they found their place to Winter, and later became Texas residents.

Dan will remain in the hearts of his wife, Marilyn (Johnson) Kay; children, Greg (Karen) Kay and Kim Kay; grandchildren, Kyle and Danielle Holden, Brittany, Derek, and Kristin Kay; siblings, Sue (Joe) Brown, Richard Kay, Kathy (Les) Kay, Phil (Karen) Prowse, Joe (Dawn) Kay, and Ruth (Jeff) Kay. He is preceded in Death by his parents, Eugene and Kathryn (Allen) Kay; and brothers, Lesile “Les” Kay and Jeff Kay.

A mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 211 East Division Street, River Falls, WI, at 11:00am, with a visitation starting an hour prior to service time. There will also be a visitation the night before on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 4:00-8:00pm at O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI.

Memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family
