David 'Jake' Terry Brenna

David 'Jake' Terry Brenna, age 73, of River Falls, passed away on June 2, 2025, at The Comforts of Home Lodge. Born December 21, 1951, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, David was the son of Robert and Loretta (Vance) Brenna. He grew up in River Falls and graduated with the Class of 1969. David built a long and dedicated career with Wisconsin Bell, later AT&T, retiring in 2010 after 38 years of service as a lineman.

David was the proud father of two daughters: Lisa Marie, with his first wife Marilyn (Ekern) Brenna and Angela Gina, with his partner Kim Sandifer. He was a devoted father steady, reliable, and protective.

David was happiest outdoors-hiking the Kinnickinnic and Willow Rivers with his daughters, canoeing with friends, hunting in the fall, and fishing in every season. Later in life, he married Elaina "Elly" Johnson, and together they enjoyed golf, road trips, and quiet mornings with the crossword puzzle. A treasured memory was a family trip to Lambeau Field, even if the Packers didn't win that day.

David is survived by his wife, Elly; daughters Lisa Marie (Joe Black) Brenna and Angela Gina Brenna; grandson Ayden Black; brothers Bob (Vickie), Jeff (Cheryl), and Randy (Roxy); sister-in-law Char; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lenny and Steve, nephew Brandy, and niece Kelly Lynn.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life for Dave Brenna will be held on Friday, June 20th, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a service starting at 5:00 pm at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in River Falls. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
