David Herbert Finley, age 85 of Prescott, WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2022, at his home surrounded by family. Dave was born to Roy and Cecelia (Brewer) Finley on June 6, 1937, in Prescott, WI. He attended Prescott High School, graduating with the class of 1955. Dave furthered his education at Globe Business School. Dave also proudly served his county in the United States Navy from 1955 to 1958. Where he received the “Good Conduct Award”. On July 6, 1963, Dave married Janice (Kathy) Kathleen Conway in Denver, Colorado. This union blessed them with five children: Tim, Jim (Buck), Dan, Mindi, Lisa.

David always had a passion throughout his life to help people, his greatest way to reach them was through Freemasonry. He was a dedicated member of Northwestern Lodge #105 having been a three-time Past Master of the Lodge. He was a member for 62 years. He was involved with fundraising programs to award academic scholarships on behalf of the Masons. He was also active in the Shriners, Eau Claire Scottish Rite, Member of Prescott Jaycees, American Legion on the honor squad for funeral services.

David also was an active volunteer with Freedom Park, Gathering Place Senior Center, the Prescott Library Board, the Cemetery Board, Meals on Wheels, and often drove patients to the VA and Dialysis.

He and his wife owned June Superette (aka “the Little Store”). He was a dedicated employee of Northwest Airlines/Delta for 33 years. Through Northwest Airlines and Hope Adoption, he was able to accompany international children to unite with their new adopted families.

David was a well-loved man who dedicated his life to the Lord and helping others.  His greatest gift was his acts of service.  He was always available to help a neighbor, friend, and stranger.

David is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Janice (Kathy); children: Tim (Tina) Finley, Jim (Mary Jo) Finley, Dan Finley, Mindi (Matt) Tronnier, Lisa (Tim) Finley- Hofmann. Along with 13 grandchildren: Monique (Robert), Nicole (Ty), Desiree (Greg), Tony, Payton, Olivia, Sydney, James, Luke, Cody, Savannah, Ava, and Tatum. And 8 great-grandchildren: Adalyn, Atlas, Nolan, Carter, Emmett, Brixen, Aurora, Kaleia. Siblings: Marlene Meier, Sandra Richardson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Roy and Cecelia Finley; in-laws: Alan Evans, Otts Meier, Keith Richardson, Janice and Ted Conway and Ken Conway; along with several other family and friends.

A Funeral Service for Dave will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at Prescott United Church of Christ: 206 Locust St N, Prescott, WI 54021, with a visitation starting at 9:00am. A visitation will be on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7:00pm provided by Br. Fred Benson at Prescott United Church of Christ.  Castelloe – Madsen American Legion Post #61 will present Military Honors. Burial will be at Pine Glen Cemetery in Prescott.
