With heavy hearts yet warm memories, we announce the passing of David Anthony Harrington, who departed this life on December 8, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on July 28, 1951, in New Richmond, Wisconsin, David, “Harry”, lived a full and vibrant life, deeply rooted in his love for family, music, and the great outdoors.
Harry, a beloved husband to Allyson and a proud father to his son Tony, spent over two decades working as a Ground Crew Supervisor for Northwest Airlines. Through his work, he built a valued circle of colleagues and friends, and was also able to provide his family with the opportunity to travel the country.
A man of eclectic tastes, Harry held a profound love for music, ranging from the soulful strains of the Grateful Dead and Eric Clapton to the poetic genius of Bob Dylan and Neil Young. His friendships with fellow musicians enriched his life, allowing him to cultivate a joy that resonated through the chords of his favorite songs. Alongside music, Harry cherished nature, often spending his time hiking mountains, camping under the stars, and capturing the world through the lens of his camera.
A true “Patient Perfectionist,” Harry poured his heart into his passions—whether it was baking fresh bread, tending to his herb garden, or embarking on a woodworking project. As a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan, Harry could always be found on a football Sunday watching the game with the sound off and Packers radio network turned up. He was a voracious reader, captivated by tales of fantasy and history, and was always eager to give or receive a book recommendation. His love for golden retrievers brought warmth and companionship to his family, who fondly remember the joy and laughter these loyal friends brought into their home.
Harry is survived by his wife of over four decades, Allyson, and their son, Tony (Lauren). He also leaves behind his siblings Vince Harrington, Lucy Harrington, Charlene Meath, Becky Gehr, Tim Harrington, Stephen Harrington, and John Harrington, among many other extended family and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Joan Harrington; and his brother, Tom Harrington.
In honor of Harry’s legacy, memorial services will be held at a future date, where family and friends will gather to share stories, music, and memories that celebrate the remarkable life he led. His ashes will be spread across locations he loved, as he wished, allowing him to remain forever connected to the beauty of nature.
Harry’s life was a celebration of creativity, adventure, and love for those around him, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In remembrance of David Harrington, you can honor him by enjoying a beer with a friend at a local bar, petting a golden retriever, and slowing down to enjoy the moment.
