1948 Dean 2025

Dean Albert Adams

January 2, 1948 — September 29, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Dean Albert Adams. Dean, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 29, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Dean was born on January 2, 1948, to Marc and Margaret (Bergevin) Adams. He grew up in Mounds View, Minnesota, alongside his three siblings. As a boy, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, rock collecting, singing and playing cards and later in life found joy in gardening, photography, and spending time with his family.

In July of 1969, Dean was united in marriage to Eileen Smith. During their years together, they were blessed with three children: Donald, Daniel, and Matthew. Though their marriage later ended, their friendship and love for one another remained strong. That enduring bond led them to share a home again as friends and companions until Eileen’s passing in 2023.

A proud veteran, Dean honorably served his country in the Vietnam War. His bravery and resilience during that time reflected the steadfast and stoic character he carried throughout his life. After leaving the military, Dean made a career as a machinist for Honeywell, where he worked until his retirement.

Dean will forever be remembered for his strength through hard times, his great sense of humor, and his caring nature. He was always ready with a smile or kind word for those around him. His presence brought comfort, and his love will remain a guiding light in the hearts of all who knew him. Dean remains in the hearts of his three sons: Donald Adams, Daniel (Carol) Adams, and Matthew (Michelle) Adams; his six grandchildren: Angela (Tom) Newman, Julie Adams, Anastasia Adams, Justin Adams, Madelyn Adams, and Aiden Adams; his siblings: Marcia (Harvey) Viske and Diane Purdy; and his sister-in-law, Mary Adams. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marc Adams; and brother-in-law, David Purdy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 8th at the St. Croix Event Center Located at 5880 Omaha Ave Stillwater MN from1pm to 4 pm, where family and friends will gather to honor Dean’s memory and the legacy of love and laughter he leaves behind.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to O’Connell Funeral Home for their compassionate care and services.

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:1-10
