Delbert Floyd Johnson

Delbert Floyd Johnson, age 97, of River Falls died suddenly at his residence on Monday, January 9, 2017. He was born on June 30, 1919 in Menomonie, WI to Engelbert and Mabel (Moe) Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Air Corps from 1941-1945. On November 5, 1942 he was united in marriage to Elaine H. Armbruster. In his younger years he was a farmer by trade and later owned and operated a car dealership in River Falls.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Engelbert and Mable Johnson; daughter, Janice Marczak; brother, Darwin Johnson.

Delbert is survived by his loving wife, of 74 years, Elaine Johnson of River Falls, WI; children, Randal (Tammi) Johnson of River Falls, WI, Joy Ann (Bud) O’Connell of Cary, NC; grandchildren, Austin Harris, Chad Harris, Amy Ostrowski, Kevin O’Connell, Alison Johnson, Megan Johnson; 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Delbert will be held 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 17th at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home in River Falls, WI with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Private interment will be in St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery, River Falls, WI at a later date. There will be cake and coffee served at St. Bridget Catholic Church, River Falls following the service at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home.
