Delores Jane Anderson

Delores Jane Anderson, age 92 of Hudson, Wisconsin, formerly of Aurora, Minnesota, passed away on May 4, 2025. She was born on November 10, 1932 on the family farm in Aurora, Minnesota, to parents Victor and Mayme (Vietanen) Lakela. Delores graduated from Aurora High School and went on to get her business degree at Duluth Business University.

Delores married Donald Anderson on January 7, 1956 and together they were blessed with six children. She dedicated herself to her family and cherishing her role as a mother and grandmother. She taught all of her children how to sew and was always happy to help with their 4-H projects when they were younger. She had a special talent for baking, and her chocolate chip cookies were the highlight of many family gatherings. Her passion for gardening was evident in her beautiful flower gardens and Delores especially looked forward to berry-picking every year. When finally sitting down after a busy day, she indulged in reading and learning about health and wellness.

In her younger years, Delores enjoyed playing volleyball and was a long-time member of St. Mark's Lutheran in Aurora.

Delores is survived by her children Debra (Daniel) Kleusch, Donna (Larry) Spielman, Dora (Mark) Skerjance and Darlene (Karl) Plattner; grandchildren Matt Speilman, Katie Roy, Corey Skerjance, Anton Skerjance, Gerry Anderson, Rianin Willman, Josh LaFreniere, Emily Plattner, Elysa Plattner; eight great grandchildren and sister Margie Craft.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald; daughter Diane Anderson; son David Anderson; grandchild Joshua Kleusch; parents Victor and Mayme Lakela; siblings Ruth Johnson, Willard Lakela, and Shirley Liimatta.

A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia, Minnesota.
