Delores Mcgillis

Delores Mae McGillis, age 93 of River Falls and formerly of Ellsworth, died peacefully on Sunday, October 4, 2020 at the Kinnic Health and Rehab Center in River Falls. Delores was born August 16, 1927 in Saint Paul MN to parents John and Elvera (Rock) Deiss. She attended school in Ellsworth, graduating from Ellsworth High School with the Class of 1945. On June 1, 1953, she was united in marriage to Stuart McGillis.

Delores worked for many years with UWRF Food Service. She loved shopping, her beloved dogs, and her cat “Twinkles”. Delores also loved to play card games, like euchre and rap poker, with family, friends, and neighbors. She will be missed.

Delores is survived by her sister, Marlys (Gene) Oberg; brother-in-law, Darrell (Mary Jane) McGillis; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart; and her parents.

To honor Delores’ final wishes, a private family service will be held at St. Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls.
