Dennis Lawrence Levens, age 79 of Hudson, passed away November 6, 2018 at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. Dennis was born on October 30, 1939 to Lawrence and Grace (McGuinnis) Levens in Superior WI, where he grew up. He graduated from Central High School in Superior and continued his education at the University of Wisconsin Superior, Illinois Institute of Technology, and the University of Minnesota. Dennis began his career at 3M in 1965. He retired after almost 33 years as a Senior Specialist in New Product Development holding many patents. Dennis enjoyed fixing and repairing things for anyone and was always thinking of new inventions that would make life easier for others.
Dennis cherished his years of travel with his wife Jan and spending winters in Florida. His hobbies were astronomy, gardening, growing tropical plants, and working on his model railroad. He was a member of the Elks Club, Moose, Lions and Sons of the American Legion.
Dennis will be dearly missed by his family, and will remain in the hearts of his wife of 40 years, Janet; daughters, Jeannette (Scott), Suzanne (Tim), Roxanne (Joe), Pamela, and Cindy; 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Vern) Johnson; and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Funeral Service for Dennis will be held at 12:00 p.m., noon, on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment at Willow River Cemetery in Hudson. Memorials preferred to the American Heart Association.
