Diana Kotz

d. June 14, 2020

Diana Lynn “Diane/Di” Kotz, age 59 of Baldwin, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota, after her body wore out from enduring many longtime health issues including leukemia, thyroid and breast cancer, and a kidney transplant.

Diane was born on January 31, 1961 in Neenah, Wisconsin, and was adopted on the following Mother’s Day by Raymond and Lorraine (Herfert) Mickelson. She grew up in Green Bay and graduated from Southwest High School. Diane continued her studies in the field of emergency medical training and served as a volunteer EMT for many years. She was united in marriage to Arlen Dumond in 1981, and the couple were blessed with two children, Rochelle and Ryan. Sadly, Ryan passed away at five months old and the couple later divorced. In 1989, Diane married Daniel Lee, and their union was blessed with daughter, Casondra. This marriage also ended in divorce. Diane worked in manufacturing at Ideal Door and later Andersen Windows. On September 21, 2004 Diane was united in marriage to “my love, my life” Joseph “Joe” Kotz.

Diane cherished her family and loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. She possessed amazing strength, both inside and out, that allowed her to handle whatever problems came her way. Diane was very bold and had the mouth of a sailor, but was extremely kind hearted and loving; proving that her bark was worse than her bite. She enjoyed fishing, going on motorcycle rides, spending time in the kitchen cooking, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. She could be called a pool shark, having spent 20 years playing pool with the Valley 8-Ball League Association. Diane adored the sight of dragonflies dancing about the lilies in her flower garden and was fond of Christmas gatherings and the 4th of July festivities at the Defour Campground in Danbury, Wisconsin.

Diane is survived by her husband, Joe Kotz; daughters, Rochelle (Jon) Tuschl and Casondra Lee; granddaughters, Taylor, Hayden, Brystol, and Jade; step-grandchildren, Shelby, Mason, and Corbin; her mother, Lorraine Mickelson; siblings, Michelle and Steve; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Ryan Arlen Dumond; and father, Ray Mickelson.

Private services for Diane will be held on Thursday, June 18th and Friday, June 19th at Peace Lutheran Church in Baldwin, Wisconsin. Interment will be at the Hammond Cemetery in Hammond, Wisconsin.

Cards for Diane’s family can be mailed to: O’Connell Family Funeral Home, Care of Diane Kotz Family, 1010 Newton St., Baldwin, WI, 54002. The family deeply appreciates all thoughts and prayers extended to them during this time.
