Donald J. Sarnstrom

Donald John Sarnstrom, age 89 of Prescott, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls, WI. Don was born to Clarence and Elenora (Swanson) Sarnstrom on January 13, 1933 in Trenton Township- Hager City, WI. After attending school until the 8 ^th grade, he left school to help with running his family farm. He later enlisted into the United States Navy and was honorable discharged after 4 years of seeing the world. After the Navy, he met and married the love of his life, Adeline Greske on July 14, 1956. This union blessed them with five children: Linda, Steven, Sandra, Brenda, and John.

Donald was a hardworking man; he worked for Armour’s in South St. Paul for many years as a steamfitter a trade he took up while in the Navy. After Armour’s closed in 1978, while not having graduated from High School he returned to school at the University of Wisconsin- River Falls acquiring his GED. He then sought employment at 3M and worked there for 20 years.

After retirement, Don and Adeline moved to their lake home on Loon Lake near Webster, WI. When Adeline passed away in 2013, Don continued to live at their lake home until age and health would no longer permit. He spent the last 3 years close to his family in River Falls at Comforts of Homes where he made many new friends and spent time with a couple old friends as well.

Don is survived by his five loving children: Linda (Mike) Flanscha, Steven Sarnstrom, Sandra (Mark) Hawkins, Brenda Becker, and John (Tamra) Sarnstrom; along with 15 grandchildren and 18 great- grandchildren; sibling, Bernice Leonard, Arnie (April) Sarnstrom, and Lyle Sarnstrom. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline; parents, Clarence and Elenora Sarnstrom; siblings: Leland, Leona, Sylvia, Howard, Kenneth, Earl, and Richard.

A Memorial Service for Donald will be at 11:00am on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Prescott United Church of Christ: 206 Locust St. N, Prescott, WI 54021. A visitation will start at 9:00am unit the service.
