Donald Larson

Donald L. “Donnie” Larson, age 78 of Baldwin WI, died on Monday, October 17, 2016 doing what he dedicated his life to: working on his farm. Donnie was born December 28, 1937 in Hammond Township WI to parents Clarence and Alvera (nee Hanson) Larson. Donnie attended the Tydalen School, and later Baldwin High School. Donnie served his country by enlisting and serving with the Army National Guard.

Growing up, Donald worked around the family farm, and hauled milk for his father. From that very young age, Donnie knew that he, too, wanted to farm. He was dedicated to the farm life – cows, working, farming – Donnie knew and understood it all. He frequently cited the county plat book. Donnie knew the history of the land, and many of the families contained within its pages. His memory was sharp like that. Donnie enjoyed his daily walks, as well as visits and socializing with family, friends, and neighbors.

Donald is survived by his siblings, Bob (Dorothy) Larson of Baldwin, Evelyn Fordahl of Kerrville TX, Audrey (Jerry) Goossen of Baldwin, and Janet (J. Kevin) Johnson of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, Myrna Larson of Baldwin; nieces and nephews, Gerald Larson, Diane (Gary) Timm, Janelle Timm, Kandis (Glenn) Meyer, Scott (Barb) Larson, Kathy Fordahl, Timothy (Terri) Fordahl, Douglas (Abbie) Goossen, Randy (Kathy) Goossen, Bruce (Christine) Goossen, Karn (Bill) Bates, Kristie Johnson, and Kim (DiAna) Johnson; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings George (Mardell) Larson, Marian (Floyd) Peterson, and Audley Larson; and brother-in-law, Phillip Fordahl.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Donald Larson will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Peace Lutheran Church, 2084 County Road N in Baldwin WI, with Pastor John Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church, and also from 3:00-6:00pm on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home, 1010 Newton Street in Baldwin WI. Memorials honoring the memory of Donald Larson may be directed to the Peace Lutheran Church Building Fund, or to the donors choosing.
