Donald Richard Lichter, age 86 of Glenwood City passed away July 3, 2026 at Glenhaven Nursing Home.
He had a love for farming and storytelling. Donald’s life was a joyful celebration of the simple pleasures; he found delight in the rustle of pages turning, particularly in Amish literature.
Donald was an aficionado of all things farming—he had an affection for tractors, steam engines, and fire engines. His long drives in the countryside with his family were nothing short of magical; moments against the backdrop of rolling fields and sunlit skies.
Family often found him reliving memories from his childhood. He would reminisce about days spent on the farm with his parents. His visits to the Baraboo Circus World Museum and the enchanting Old World Wisconsin were regular pilgrimages, where he celebrated and preserved the spirit of our rich rural heritage.
Donald is survived daughters Laurie (Rick) Matoska, and Mary; 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Pete.
