Donald Wareberg

Donald Bernard Wareberg, age 75, passed away on July 10, at his home in Cottage Grove, MN.

Donald was born on November 25, 1941 to Bernard and Lucille (Heebl) Wareberg. He was united in marriage to Janice Brenke on August 29, 1969 in Belle Plaine, MN. Donald was blessed with two sons, Troy and Ross.

Donald enjoyed riding his motorcycles and relished in customizing and maintaining them. He loved to travel to Texas with his wife Jan and stay in a family friend’s trailer. Donald was a man of delightful stories, many of which led to more stories. He was entertained by dinner theatre and social outings. He knew where to get the best donuts in any town. Donald was a humble man who was devoted to instilling manners and a great work ethic into his children. He opened his home to those who needed it most and always supported his family. Donald was a driven man who persevered in life and will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his sons, Troy (Tracy Tobin) and Ross (Karen Moe); grandsons, James (Tiffany Engquist) Wareberg and Taylor Wareberg; granddaughters, Ariana and Nevaeh Burke and Ashley Morre; brothers/sisters-in-law Joyce Loftus, Robert Brenke, Stan (Julie) Brenke, James (Ann) Brenke, Shirley (Richard) Willson, Doug (Mary Anne) Brenke, and Bruce Brenke; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice (Brenke) Wareberg, siblings, parents, in-laws

A gathering of friends and family will take place from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18th, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, 520 S. 11th St.. Private Interment will be at Willow River Cemetery.
