Donna Peterson

Donna Peterson, age 93, of Ellsworth, WI passed away at her home on April 30, 2019 surrounded by love. Donna was born April 14, 1926 in Trimbelle, WI to parents James and Irene (O’Connor) Harris. She was united in marriage with Leroy “Pete” Peterson on September 3, 1947.

In addition to helping run the family business, Peterson Trucking, Donna built a home where everyone was welcome. Her door was always open and “Grandma Donna’s house” served as the central hub for grandkids and great-grandkids and their friends, constantly coming and going. Always quick with an Irish smile and a freshly baked cookie, she will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Donna is survived by her seven children, Larry (Sharon) Peterson, Jane (David) Voelker, Cathy (Stan) Kemmerer, Jan (Pat) Foley, Mary (Steve) Benson, Boone (Darcy) Peterson, and Tom Peterson; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bonnie Anderson; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy “Pete” Peterson; parents, James and Irene Harris; brother, Lamar Harris; and great-granddaughter, Jordyn Raleigh.

On Sunday, May 5th, a celebration of Donna’s life will take place at St. Francis Catholic Church, 231 W. Woodworth St. in Ellsworth. A visitation will be held at the church from 2:00pm – 4:00pm. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father Jerry Harris, will take place at 4:00pm followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery.
