Doreen Kay Severin

Doreen Kay Severin, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born on February 21, 1943, in Ironwood, Michigan, to parents Arnold and Kathryn Rigoni. Doreen grew up in Ironwood, where she met the love of her life, Bernie Severin. The couple moved to Virginia, Minnesota, where they raised their two children, Lori and Mark. Doreen was a dedicated homemaker, wonderful cook and baker who took great pride in caring for her family. After her children left home, she found joy in providing daycare and worked as an aide at the local elementary school, making a positive impact on the lives of many children. 

A woman of quiet strength, Doreen was known for her kindness and gentle spirit. She enjoyed crafting, especially quilting quilting, showcasing her creativity and attention to detail. Her friends and family will remember her warm heart and the sweet way she touched everyone's lives. 

Doreen is survived by her loving husband, Bernie Severin; her daughter, Lori (Andy) Dehler; her son, Mark (Kimberly) Severin; grandchildren Alicia Severin; Jacob (Danielle) Wallin and Jordan Wallin; great grandchildren Teddy, Haddie, and Griffin She is preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Kathryn and her sisters Coreen Compton and Donna Jean Rigoni. Family and friends are invited to honor Doreen's life on Monday, June 22, 2026 at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hammond, Wisconsin. There will be a rosary at 9:45 AM. followed by visitation from 10 - 11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Burial will be held the following day at 12:30 PM at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood, MI. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
