Baldwin

Doris Beatrice Collis passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, surrounded by her family at Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, Wisconsin.

Doris was born in Currie, Minnesota. She attended Central High School in Saint Paul, Minnesota. On August 26, 1948, she married George Collis in Saint Paul. Together they shared many years of marriage and raised six children.

Doris worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Baldwin Care Center, where she spent her time caring for others.

For many years Doris lived on a farm in Glenwood City, Wisconsin. She appreciated country life and the connection to animals and nature that came with it. Gardening was one of her favorite pastimes, and she especially enjoyed growing tomatoes each summer. She loved horses and had many pets throughout her life, including numerous cats and dogs.

Doris also enjoyed feeding the animals that wandered up to her home, including raccoons and squirrels, and liked watching them return. Her home reflected another hobby she enjoyed—collecting small keepsakes and knick-knacks gathered over the years.

She was known for being straightforward and honest, someone who spoke her mind and meant what she said. Doris was social and comfortable talking with just about anyone she met.

Doris is survived by her children, Michael (Ruth) Collis, Vickie Collis, John (Susan) Collis, and Linda Berry; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Collis; her sons, Steven Collis and Thomas Collis; her grandsons, Shaun Collis and Marshall Berry; and her memorable dogs, Little Girl and Barney.
