Dorothy Ann King

Dorothy Ann King, born on May 26, 1948, in Hudson, WI, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 77 years old.

Dorothy was born on May 26, 1948 in Hudson, WI, to parents Lyle and Pauline (Graf) Kohl. She graduated from Hudson High School and after graduating dedicated nearly 25 years of her life to serving as a unit coordinator at Hudson Hospital. After leaving the hospital, she found joy in her work as a clerk at a convenience store in North Hudson, where her lively spirit and eagerness to connect with customers brightened the days of many.

Known for her spitfire personality, Dorothy had a unique talent for bringing laughter and warmth into the lives of those around her. Her interests were as vibrant as her personality; she enjoyed playing bingo, pool, and darts, and appreciated the simple pleasure of unwinding with a beer after work. A passionate gardener and skilled crocheter, she found joy in creating and nurturing beauty, both in her home and in her relationships.

Above all else, Dorothy treasured her family. She took immense pride in the bonds she fostered and loved to gather everyone together for barbecues, particularly on the Fourth of July—a tradition that framed endless summer memories.

Dorothy is survived by Ken King; her children, Melissa Dudrey, Terry Barker, Jessica (Dana) Jacobson, and step daughter Christine (David) Pittman; grandchildren Travis Wichman, Austin Dudrey, Kyle Dudrey, Benjamin Pittman, Tylor Sivek, Jordan Ihle, Amara King, Kailee King, Brennan Crapser, Caleb Drews, Ashley Hintz, and Danielle Ziemek; great-grandchildren Luna, Reece, Easton, Lillean, Adrianna, Haedyn, Kayonah, McKenzie, Riley, Evan and Logan; great-great-granddaughter Penelope; brother Alfred (Judy) Kohl and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Pauline; siblings Marlys Littlefield, Vera Henningsen, Lyle "Kohlie" Kohl, Sandy Gulden, infant sister Tootie Kohl; grand-daughter Tatum Drews and step-daughter Amy King-Petry.

Visitation will be held on December 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM at O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, WI, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM that same day. Memorials are preferred to the family.
