Duane Wilmer Johnson, age 97, of Hammond, Wisconsin, peacefully passed away on October 18, 2025. Born on December 10, 1927, in Emerald, Wisconsin to Wilmer & Ivy (Williams) Johnson, Duane lived a life marked by dedication to family, service, and a steadfast work ethic.

A proud veteran of the United States Army, Duane served honorably during World War II, including a significant deployment to Japan. His commitment to duty seamlessly transitioned into a long and rewarding career as a Signal Maintenance Supervisor with the Soo Line Railroad, where he devoted 46 years before retiring.

Duane was united in marriage with Carol Harshman of Spring Valley at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa.

Duane is survived by his sons Dean and David (Jean Ann) Johnson; grandchildren Blake, Kristin, Trevor, Alexandra, Terry, and Melissa Johnson; great-grandchildren Katrese, Morgan, Gavin, Emery, Dakota, Jazmine, Ethon, Everett, Aubrianna, and Emma Leigh.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Faythe Johnson; son Joel Johnson; sisters, Lucille (Palmer) Carlsrud and Joyce (Delbert) Smith.

Visitation 10-11 AM with 11 AM Funeral Service Saturday November 8 at United Methodist Church, 804 St. John St. Boyceville. Inurnment Tiffany Cemetery.
