Edna Hollister

d. June 23, 2023

Edna Margaret Hollister, aged 92, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Park View Nursing Home, Woodville, WI, where she has been for the previous 10 months. She was born August 26, 1930, a twin, to Ford and Lela (Ward) Hollister in the Long Prairie, MN area. While still at home the family lived in the Long Prairie area, then moved to Nisswa, MN and later to Lincoln, Nebraska. Edna was raised in a God fearing home and when she was about 13 she made her choice to serve the Lord. Later she went to St. Paul, Minnesota to work. That was where she offered for the Harvest Field, offered her life to seek others with the same desire that she had of saving her soul. She had the opportunity to start in this work in November of 1955 in South Dakota. She was in South Dakota for about 4 years when she went to New Mexico to start in the Spanish work. In 1964 she went to Puerto Rico (Caribbean) and in 1973 Lucy Rogers and Edna were the first 2 sisters to go to the Dominican Republic. Two brother workers had gone in 2 years before to start the work there. From that time until the end of 2006 she worked between the 2 islands. But by the end of 2006 she was unable to continue on the islands due to health and returned to the USA. She was active for a few years again in South Dakota. When she wasn’t able to be active any more she stayed more permanently with her brother, Robert and, sister-in-law, Videll, Hollister for a few years. When Robert and Videll weren’t able to care for her any more due to their health she went to stay with John and Royce Keller in August of 2013, first in Wyoming for a few years and then in Lincoln, Nebraska. In August of 2022 she was moved to the nursing home in Woodville close to her niece and nephew when the Kellers were no longer able to care for her.

She will be remembered as a Godly soul and pleasant person, easy to care for, not complaining or demanding.

She is survived by her sister, Blanche Fout, her brother Robert and wife, Videll, nieces and nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Harold, her twin sister Elsie Ramsden and brother-in-law, Marvin Ramsden.
