Elaine G Baird

Elaine “Peg” (Steiner) Baird, age 92, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at The Lutheran Home in River Falls, WI. Peg was born May 23, 1923 in Ellsworth, WI to Henry and Mary (Young) Steiner. In 1941 she graduated from Ellsworth High School. She worked at her father’s grocery store, Steiner’s Grocery until she went to beauty school in Eau Claire. Peg worked as a beautician in Hudson at the Modern Beauty Shop until her marriage to Wayne Baird on September 30, 1961. To this union brought one daughter, Mari.

Elaine is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wayne; daughter, Mari Scobey and granddaughter, Megan Rose Scobey. She is also survived by four nieces, Pat Evenson, Joani Rohl, Jan Most and Kathy Hines.

A private memorial service will be held at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home in River Falls, WI. Visitation will be 4:30-7:00pm Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Cashman-Hill Funeral Home. Private interment will be at St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery, River Falls, WI.
