Emilia “Emily” Levinskas

d. March 24, 2019

Emilia “Emily” Levinskas, age 79, of Hudson, formerly of Chicago, passed away peacefully Sunday March 24, 2019. Emily was born on March 29,1939 to Peter and Jozefa “Josephine“ (Stoch) Occhiuzzo in Chicago, IL. Emily got married to Juozas “Joe” Levinskas and raised their two sons, Joe and Tony, together in the community of Mt. Greenwood in Chicago, but after her husband died she visited Arizona and was so amazed by the beauty of the desert she decided to make it her home for twenty years before her eventual move to Wisconsin to be closer to family. She was very proud of her heritage and loved to cook traditional Italian, Polish, and Lithuanian meals for her family. Emily always looked forward to the annual summer family vacation trips to Lodi, WI. She was known for her motherly nature and the joy she got from caring for children, including working for a daycare center in Arizona. Emily enjoyed drawing, singing and listening to music, as well as playing the organ. More recently, she loved doing daily activities with her friends and staff at Comforts of Home, her assisted living residence in Hudson, Wisconsin.

She will remain in the hearts of her children Antanas “Tony” (Stephie) Levinskas and Juozas “Joe” (Christine) Levinskas; grandchildren Elyse (Tim), Ethan, Joseph and Janis; great grandchildren Wyatt, Rory and Joseph; and her sister, Angie (Rudy) Regalado. She is preceded in death by her husband Juozas; siblings Joe (the late Helen) Occhiuzzo, Carmella (the late Andy) Mazur, Gloria (the late Bob) Trinkhaus, Yolanda (the late John) Caruso, Mary (the late Herman) Zehnder, the late Julia, and the late Tristano.

A Memorial Service celebrating Emily’s life will occur on May 4th in the Chicago area.
