Francis ‘Pete’ Reichert

Francis Eugene ‘Pete’ Reichert, age 88, of Diamond Bluff, passed away Easter Sunday, April 9, 2023 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Francis was born on May 1, 1934 in Prescott, Wisconsin; the son of Harold and Philomena ˜Minnie” (Gagne) Reichert. He was raised in Prescott where he attended school. As a young man, he served in the Armed Forces in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959 followed by four years in the reserves. On September 29, 1962 he was united in marriage to Lorraine Bjertness. This union would later end in divorce in 1994. Togather they had two sons, Robert and Michael.

Growing up he was mechanically inclined and an overall fix-it guy. He began as a laborer for Harris Construction. Being gifted he was respected by his peers. He worked for over 30 years in home construction as a jack-of-all-trades before becoming the night man helping with security and oversight at Jacques Seeds in Prescott.

Francis was a simple man. He and his boys were extremely close and did pretty much everything together. They had great memories raising all sorts of fowl; including chickens, ducks, pheasants and other birds. Being an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed time hunting deer earlier in life and any chance he had to wet a line fishing he took it. Only until his health had declined did he stop hunting. Furthermore, he enjoyed tinkering in his garden and always looked forward to a fresh-cut tomato.

Francis is survived by his sons, Robert and Michael Reichert, of Diamond Bluff; his brother, James Reichert of Prescott; as well as his former wife, Lorraine Reichert of Hastings. His parents and brother Edward Reichert proceeded him In death.

No funeral is planned. A private family grave-side gathering will be held. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Prescott. In lieu of flowers donations should be directed to The American Cancer Society.
