Gary Wayne Fosberg, age 81, was born on March 16, 1945, in Red Wing, Minnesota, to Hillard and Adeline Fosberg.
Gary grew up in the Bay City area, where he attended school before beginning a life centered around hard work. Throughout his years, he worked as a machinist and in cabinetry at Riviera in Red Wing, while also lending a helping hand on neighboring farms. Gary was never one to shy away from a hard day's work and took pride in staying busy and putting his skills to good use.
Gary was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, often bringing a smile to those around him. He enjoyed traveling, meeting people along the way, and experiencing new places. At heart, Gary appreciated the simple pleasures of country living, where he could enjoy the outdoors, work with his hands, and keep himself occupied with whatever project came next.
Gary is survived by his brother, Charles (Judi) Fosberg; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane Fosberg; his parents, Hillard and Adeline Fosberg; and his siblings, Dale Fosberg, Susie Hoffman, and LaVern Fosberg.
A graveside burial for Gary will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Free Home Cemetery in Plum City, Wisconsin.
